covid-19 measures

We sincerely hope you are all safe and healthy during these unprecedented times and thank you in advance as we navigate the safest way forward as deemed by authorities.

The measures outlined below are best practices currently mandated by the Public Health Agency of Canada, Worksafe BC, Transport Canada Marine Section and recommended by Waterski and Wakeboard Canada. However, be prepared for variations as the season progresses. With the intention of providing exceptional out-of-doors experiences that promote wellness and exercise, our top priority is to ensure that our guests and staff continue to have a safe environment to work and play.

The following protocols are effective immediately. They will be monitored and modified as required based on directives from authorities and compliance by guests.

General COVID-19 Protocols
Upon arrival at our rental shack, please do not proceed further than the marked mat until directed to do so. If it is occupied, please cue up where indicated by blue “X”. We are implementing additional cleaning and disinfection measures in our rental shack and high touch areas. All motorized watercraft/vessels will receive a deep clean and disinfection on all surfaces between rentals. Staff will wear face coverings any time they cannot maintain more than 2m distance from guests or other staff. No cash transactions. We will not store personal items in our rental shacks. Please bring your own hand sanitizer. We will not permit access to the premises if you have not self-isolated for the past 14 days following international travel or if you have cold/flu-like symptoms. Anyone not adhering to the direction of employees or these rules will be required to leave the premises immediately.
Charter Specific Protocols:
Prior to boarding, you will be asked a few simple questions to which you must answer truthfully. Your coach/driver will be wearing a medical mask or face covering that covers their mouth and nose at all times; we encourage you to do the same. Until COVID-19 restrictions are loosened, passenger capacity will be limited to eight. Sitting immediately beside or behind the driver is prohibited. Please follow the direction of our staff regarding where to sit during charters and refrain from unnecessarily moving about especially while underway. As a reminder, no person should board a vessel when they are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. Should symptoms such as a fever, cough or difficulty breathing develop while on-board, please notify the driver immediately. Please take garbage home with you for disposal.
Boat Rental Specific Protocols

Prior to boarding, you will be asked a few simple questions to which you must answer truthfully.

As a reminder, no person should board a vessel when they are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. Should symptoms such as a fever, cough or difficulty breathing develop during your rental, please notify us by phone that you are returning to the dock immediately, then leave the premises directly.

Please take garbage home with you for disposal.

SUP Yoga and SUP Tour Specific Protocols

All paddlers must remain 2m apart at all times.

The breakfast portion of the Sunrise SUP Tour is cancelled until restaurants reopen. This tour is half price until breakfast is reinstated.

If you are provided an electronic version of a liability waiver with your confirmation email, please complete it in advance as it will eliminate at least one touch point on site.

We really need your help to make this work. Indications are that COVID-19 restrictions will be staying in place for quite some time. It is important to adopt the perspective that watersports as outlined above is the new normal and will likely continue in this fashion for the entire season.

This pandemic has placed an unprecedented strain on our health care system, most of all on our health care workers. For everyone’s sake, make safe choices while on the water. A trip to the hospital isn’t good for anyone right now.
